A Russian Soloists Chamber Orchestra THE FEENIST BALALAYKA is a new example of Russian folk stage instrumental art, where different traditional and nontraditional elements of professional performance are combined. People's Artist of Russia IGOR OBLICKINE whose name is well known among the professional artists in Russia and abroad is the Conductor of THE FEENIST BALALAYKA Orchestra.

THE FEENIST BALALAYKA Orchestra of soloists contains only 13 high professional musicians who are virtuoso and masterly playing on more than 50 folk instruments. Besides traditional instruments such as balalaikas, bayans, domras. There you can see any of rare folk shepherd's instruments such as zhaleycas, several types of wooden horns, pipes, whistles and lot of percussion instruments.

All compositions of the Orchestra including many song variations for soloist-vocalists are original and played by nobody else. The basic style of the Orchestra is CONCERT STAGE INSTRUMENTAL MINIATURE. But it is only basic style! They are playing many classic music with many guest soloists on classic instruments, such as: violin, cello, flute, piano and etc. Also THE FEENIST BALALAYKA plays many popular international folk songs and melodies in unforgettable virtuoso and romantic arrangements!

The costumes of the Orchestra are presenting the wonderful spectacle. They have no analogues in the Russia or abroad and are the true copies of princes and boyard's (old Russian barons) costumes of Russian fairy-tales. For classical programs THE FEENIST BALALAYKA uses classic black stage costumes.
