Then come the name of the Chamber Orchestra - THE FEENIST BALALAYKA. And that wasn't accidentally. The main character of the old Russian tale, Feenist Bright Falcon, was the defender of poor and miserable people, who needed his help. His characteristic features were: courage, great love to his native land and to the people, self-sacrifice, unselfishness and philanthropy. He was also a young and very handsome man.

The second name of the Chamber Orchestra needs no explanation. It became international and its sound and meaning is the same in all languages. It shows the style of the Chamber Orchestra, its instruments, the music it plays. It also points the fact that the Chamber Orchestra belongs to Russia, to its folk culture.
6. Repertoire
Creating the repertory and co-operating with brilliant musicians, Igor Oblickine began to incarnate his dreams into Life. For a short time he created a number of compositions, which showed an original approach to traditional melodies, he made a range arrangements of Russian traditional songs for the vocalists of his Chamber Orchestra. Now the band is playing its music in different genres, styles and composers such as: Stravinsky, Rakhmaninoff, Musorgsky, Gershwin, De Falla and etc.
7. Instruments and style
At that time the section of wind-instrument soloists was formed, which, to Igor Oblickine's conception, would play a represented part in creative individuality of the Chamber Orchestra. These musical instruments the sound of THE FEENIST BALALAYKA Chamber Orchestra is very interesting and unusual.
Most of folk wind instruments as well as other exotic, were found by the Chamber Orchestra's members in different remote regions of Russia. They were preserved by many generations and came to us from ancient times. Sure, they are of certain historical and ethnographic value.
In ancient times they used to call wind instruments the goudkie, and people who played them were called GOUDOSHNICKI or DOUDARIE.
Still there is one more specific feature of THE FEENIST BALALAYKA Chamber Orchestra: all they compositions performs by anyone else! That compositions were created for the Chamber Orchestra only! They are mostly composed by leader and conductor of the Chamber Orchestra - People's Artist of the Russia - IGOR Th. OBLICKINE. These are usually the arrangements of Russian folk songs and melodies. Old Russian songs new due to his fine arrangements, though they still preserve the original beauty.
The Chamber Orchestra has its own stage style. It's the STAGE CONCERT INSTRUMENTAL MINIATURE. Each compositions, full of harmonies, melodies and timbres, like a bright musical picture, remind the art of Russian "LHUBOCK".
Due of his talent Igor Oblickine could find such an approach to the folk musical material that one became clearer for modern people.
