A Russian Folk Instruments Soloist Chamber Band THE FEENIST BALALAYKA was founded on the initiative of the State Russian TV & Radio Company. High professional musicians, which had been working in many well-known folk Chamber Orchestras, were invited by Honoured (now is People's) Artist of Russia Igor Oblickine, composer, conductor, the founder of the Chamber Orchestra, who became its leader.

2. Igor Oblickine
A professional Conductor with great experience, Igor Oblickine is also a composer and arranger of all stage programs, performed by the Chamber Orchestra. Earlier, being the Chief Conductor of the folk orchestra, which worked with The State Russian Choir named after M.Piatnitsky.
Igor Oblickine toured in many countries throughout the world. He gave performances on most prestige stages, such as FINLAND PALACE (Helsinki, Finland), METROPOLITAN OPERA (New-York, USA), CAESAR PALACE (Las-Vegas, USA), he conducted the orchestra in St.Peter's Cathedral in Vatican (among the visitors was the Pope John-Paul II).
3. Birth
At the end of 1988, accepted an offer of the GOSTELERADIO SSSR, Igor Oblickine decided to form a new Chamber Orchestra, which would continue to develop the traditions of Russian folk stage art, though the main direction of the Chamber Orchestra was still studio work.
4. Featuring
According to Igor Oblickine's intention, the newly formed Chamber Orchestra was to have a very important advantage of being not humorous over other Chamber Orchestras. As a result of this, having compact properties, it was supposed to be highly mobile. In fact musicians play concerts without sheets that gives a possible to change programs often and isn't a border (stand sheets) between musicians and public. It turned out that the optimum person is 14 people. This is much less than usual number of a big orchestra. But this Chamber Orchestra preserves musical and technical possibilities and we take into consideration the quality of the performance we may say that in this aspect THE FEENIST BALALAYKA Chamber Orchestra is superior to many different ensembles of Russian folk instruments that peruse only commercial purpose in the Russia.
He range of abilities of the staff should be also very wide: they must be not only excellent musicians, but also sing, dance, be able to create a good Live show and also manage to play different old folk device and many others.
Igor Oblickine had examined many musicians and at last he managed to find those ones he had been looked for. He persuaded them to work together and they agreed.
